Fire crews are tackling a major blaze at a University of Bristol building.
It was initially reported that the fire had broken out at the Wills Memorial Building but the university has issued a statement clarifying that the blaze was in the Fry Building, just opposite the Wills Building.
The University of Bristol had invested £33m in transforming the Grade II listed Fry building.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at just after 5pm and sent seven fire engines, along with two turntable ladders.
Several roads around the campus have been closed, including Park Row and Woodland Road, and police are at the scene.
“There have been no reports of any hazardous materials or any injuries,” a spokesperson said.
“We will continue to fight the fire, but it appears to be going very, very well.”
