You may have seen AJ (@askaboutaaj) on our Facebook page lately with his amazing video rejecting all bad vibes and spreading love ahead of 2018. 14 million views on The Uni Bubble and 10s of millions more across the internet later, we thought it was only right that we put together this interview with AJ to get his thoughts on some of your comments, a look at his 2017 and his hopes for 2018!
First off, AJ replied to the top comments on the video:
Isaac Escobar: It was great until they showed Trump when the negativity is mostly reflected on him, 2018 let the President do his Job that he was elected for and worry about 2020 to fix it, if it needs fixing or leave it so it can improve.
AJ: I think the video is still great, but I never did anything to make the president lose his job so this comment really don’t have value. It’s just one of the things I wouldn’t really care for in 2018 which is “opinions”.
Matt Hughes: People say the same shit every year and it’s still the same!
AJ: True & not true, but I like to think very positive before the New Years, who wouldn’t? Some people actually have better years than their previous one.
Crystal D’Cunha: Can we just think about the fact that he made this video kicking in random directions and then sat there to edit in the flying words
AJ: Right? mind blowing.
Michaelia Liu: I’ve saved this so I can watch it every day of 2018
AJ: I honestly watch it everyday I don’t know how or why, but I’m always finding myself back to it whether it’s in my gallery or literally on any social media platform. It feels very great to know people really love your work!
Then we asked AJ about some more personal stuff:
Stress, bullshit, negativity, drama, opinions and procrastination. If you could leave just one of these behind for 2018 – which would you choose, and why?
Negativity would definitely be the main one because it comes in many ways and creates even more problems.
If you could give one piece of advice to the millions of people watching your videos, who might be dealing with some of the negativity you mention, what would it be?
For those who really love my videos thanks to you guys first of all, but the main key is to focus on yourself find that love within you it’s a very powerful thing to sit there and actually love yourself. When doing this you can block out so many negative vibes in your life.
Is there any particular event/moment that led to you making this video?
Of course! earlier in the morning around 2-4am I’m always up listening to music and watching videos to get inspired to make them. I can’t think of the many nights I went to sleep empty handed.
What is the biggest lesson you learned in 2017?
The biggest lesson I learned in 2017 will be learning to love myself in a way which I became selfish with myself I would always ask my self in different situations would this be helpful to me? Will it hurt me? Can I learn something from this? before doing almost anything I would always ask my self how will it affect me. And by doing that I was able to learn many lessons.
What’s your best memory from 2017?
My best memory of 2017 will be me seeing a fan cry in front of me for the first time. People always walk up to me and freak out when they notice me it’s the best feeling ever, but the first time a fan was crying because they saw me was the sweetest feeling on this earth. Never have I ever thought so many people could be so inspired by me and love me to this point so it’s a great memory.
You’ve shown the things you’re not taking into 2018, but what are the things you will be taking from 2017 into 2018?
I will continue to bring a positive vibe in 2018 there’s no other way I couldn’t. Motivation will be one also I have so many other good feelings, but I believe I want to be motivated all 2018 no matter what. The last thing I’m taking into 2018 will be love.
What does the ideal 2018 look like for yourself?
It’s a great year for me I believe my life will be ten times better. I see myself working on projects, doing even more videos and just expanding myself in what I do best.
