Many of us will have memories of having a pen pal on the other side of the world as part of some scheme in primary school. You’d send them one letter about yourself, get one back and that would be the end of that. Since then though, the rise of the internet and social media has meant most of our generation never got to have a proper pen pal.
All hope is not lost though, as a story has surfaced on Twitter where one guy and girl have really hit it off as pen pals:
Was penpals with this girl in Australia and we sent pictures of everyday things of each other's favorite color. I sent her teal things and she sent me yellow. She sent me this text so I hung it up with some of the photos she sent in an art show. We're more than penpals now. pic.twitter.com/ZnXDo54iwS

They sent each other ‘pictures of everyday things of each other’s favourite color’ and he even hung one of her sweet texts up on his wall!
The text reads: “You know, I was never really able to see the beauty in yellow before I started taking photos of yellow items for you. Colours were colours and yellow was just bright. But it’s so much more than that – it’s the way I feel when I think of speaking to you, it’s bold and warm; it’s the colour that epitomises your essence.
“I see yellow everywhere now, thanks to you. I’ve grown quite fond of it. I will continue to appreciate the colour and you. You are yellow – bright, warm and bold, and both you and the colour should be appreciated.
There is even a subtle hint at some sort of romance on the cards as they’re ‘more than penpals now’.
Here’s the best part… the Twitter user @vtttd went on to confirm that he is actually flying out to Australia to see his pen pal in March!
Hello please don't start a GoFundMe for plane tickets. I'll be flying to Australia in March already. Thank you for all the support and you will get an update when we meet in March.
